Egg tempera colours are among the oldest mediums for fine art painting. They were known to the ancient Egyptians and were used by nearly all the Great Masters of the Renaissance. Egg tempera gives pure transparent colour with a silky finish. Today, Daler-Rowney are one of the few manufacturers to offer egg tempera ready to use from the tube. These paints are used by specialist art restorers and painters around the world. The freshness of the colour relies largely on the way in which the paint is applied. Egg tempera should be applied in several thin layers of only one brushstroke thickness. The painting must therefore be carefully planned and the paint must be diluted with the correct proportion of water.
27 shades are available in 22ml tubes. Price per tube.
