EXCELLENCE LINEN STRETCHED CANVAS
NEW from Gerstaecker’s stable of artists’ stretched canvas is a very high quality Belgian linen range. The canvas itself is medium grain or texture, but heavy weight at 460g/m2.
The canvas is double sized and double acrylic primed thus making the canvas eminently suitable for oil or acrylic painting for the discerning artist.
The range of sizes is interesting because not only are standard frame sizes included, but also the French sizes P for Paysage or Landscape, F for Figure or Portrait and M for Marine. The particular dimensions have found much favour as the proportions are very pleasing for these subjects.
Stretchers employed come from managed forests in the Landes district of France and are noted for their density and strength. The proximity to the Bay of Biscay may have something to do with this! Moreover, the profile dimensions increase with frame size and of course various combinations of support bars are added for the larger formats. Solid beech wood wedges for insertion in the double tenon and mortise joints, finish off the whole assembly. Price per canvas.
