Kermolin is a high quality, weather proof casting and modelling compound that can be used after mixing with water as a thick pulpy casting material or with a lower water powder ratio as a modelling paste. Kermolin is used for the design of decorational items, e.g. lamp shades, puppet heads, masks, collages, but as well for the design of landscapes, together with wire tissue, for modelling. Thus, shapes or model constructions are obtained that are extraordinarily solid and dimensionally stable, due to the silan chips (glass fibres) contained in the material. This makes it possible to create thin, light, nearly unbreakable shapes with high stability. Another advantage: Kermolin is of thixotrope (non dripping) consistency so that it can even be used on vertical surfaces, e.g. vases, cups, flower pots. The shapes should be at least 5-6 mm thick and become then almost unbreakable. Further, the casted or modelled shapes can be worked mechanically by filing, drilling, sawing, milling and polishing. For example: in self made masks, the holes for the eyes etc. can be cut off (by drilling or milling). The mixing ratio for casting compound is 3 parts Kermolin and 1 part water. The mixing ratio for modelling material is 4 parts Kermolin and 1 part water. Available in a 1000g or 2500g tub. Price per tub.
