LOKTA PLANT COLOURED NATURAL PAPER
Natural paper 105g/m², format approx. 48cm x 66cm. The previously described hand-made paper is coloured with plant extracts from time-honoured preparations. Made by women and labour-intensive processes involving leaves, fruits, roots, and bark from various trees and shrubs in the Himalayas. Brown is obtained, for example, from cassius bark, red-brown from the henna shrub, light brown form the Himalayan juniper, dark brown from the green fruits and leaves of the walnut, ochre and rust-brown from the acacia, aubergine from fir and spruce trees and dark beige from the jack-fruit. These plant colours give Lokta deckle paper an unmistakable character, which is enhanced further by the silky glint of the paper surface. The warmest distinctive colours have a special radiance. The leather-like strength of the paper enables it to find many applications, including, for example, fine hand-prints, work with coloured crayon, oil and soft pastels, ink drawings, calligraphy, gouache, passe-partout mounting card, covers, collage and decoration. Minimum order quantity 3 sheets.
Due to natural factors (seasonal effects, growth, harvest), variations in colour and consistency are inevitable and serve to make each sheet quite unique. Price per sheet.
