RABBIT SKIN SIZE

A hot glue like other animal glues. Made from skin and bones of rabbits, hares and other small animals. It has an exceptionally high elasticity. The advantage of the glue is that it can be reheated repeatedly allowing work to be repositioned. It can be applied very thinly e.g. for veneers. Traditionally used in the production of furniture and musical instruments. This glue serves as an organic primer for substrates such as canvas or wood panels for art work. This can be used both as the binding agent for an oil painting ground and, in conjunction with Gesso Powder (code 29077), as a ground. The lime should be soaked in water the day before in a covered air tight container, and stored until it has swollen in size. Just before use, it should be warmed, but being careful not to let it reach boiling point. Available in 250g bags. Price per bag.
