SCHAPPA-PLATE
A material ideally suited for printing and etching in schools. The soft plastic plate is flexible and 1mm thick, with a matt and a gloss surface. It can be used on both sides and finds many applications. The etching needle can be easily and freely applied. The raised edges that can be observed on etchings done with stronger needles crumble away on this surface. Even the aquatinta effect can be achieved if the surface is treated with fine emery paper. Light or bright surfaces can be achieved with the aid of shellac French polish or acrylic varnish applied before inking. Classic etching tools are fine, but even with a short-bristled hard wire brush the plates can be worked well. A wrinkled grain results if rough emery paper is used in the pressing phase. The printed plate can also be worked with different inks. The matt side can produce a special cloth-look effect. In brief, no experiment is off limits with this highly versatile product. Has to be sampled. Available in 4 different sizes. Price per item.
