SCHMINCKE HORADAM GOUACHE PAINT NO. 12
48 pure high quality Gouache paints with the best genuine pigments and the highest pigment concentrations for luminosity and depth of colour. They are opaque, with a velvet matt finish and are made from a gum-arabic base. The natural covering power of the pure artists pigments has not been achieved by adding white to the paints. Horadam Gouache has excellent flow properties. These finest artists' gouache can be diluted with water and are intermixable with each other and with Designers Gouache. After drying, the paint can be wetted and reworked on all types of absorbent and non-absorbent grounds (paper, cardboard, canvas…etc.). Due to the extra fine pigment size, the Aero Finest Artist’s Gouache can also be applied using a fine 0.15mm airbrush. For painting techniques requiring opaque colours to cover extensive areas, Horadam Gouache offers a complimentary medium to Schmincke’s Horadam Artists Water Colours. These two series of artists paints can be mixed together. Due to their different surface effects, however, they offer complimentary modes of artistic expression: Aquarell is translucent and allows the white of the paper to ‘shine through’ , Gouache gives a rich, opaque, pastel-like, intensive pigment layer.
