Modern quality paints meeting the needs of the exacting professional. Norma Professional are 78 normal, i.e. resin free, high quality finest artists’ oil paints. They are called "Finest" because the individual recipes use the best genuine artists’ pigments in the highest concentrations, and because like Mussini – finest artists’ resin oil paints – they are carefully ground, then left to mature for several months before being put in tubes.
As well as the expensive traditional shades, Norma Professional includes a number of shades making use of modern reliable pigments in the lower price groups. Where, for environmental or price reasons, genuine cadmium or cobalt shades have been adjusted through mixing, this is indicated by the word, "hue", in the colour name. Where there has been a price reduction due to the use of fillers, this is marked with "mix", since finest artists colours must respect absolute honesty in their names and use of symbols.
Schmincke also has a strict policy relating to health and ecology. In satisfying artistic requirements for colour, Norma Professional are also designed to be as harmless as possible to health and to the environment.
