SENNELIER EGG TEMPERA
Egg tempera from Sennelier was known as the preferred painting medium of Marc Chagall, who used these paints in some of his most famous works. Egg tempera was already being used in the Renaissance; in the 16th century it was the predominant painting medium. The binding agent used in Sennelier egg tempera is based on a centuries old recipe. It consists of an emulsion made from vegetable oil, plant resin, egg yolk, and distilled water, as well as an anti-mould agent. Sennelier egg tempera paint is semi-transparent, water soluble, and will not age, turn yellow or lose its luminosity over time. These properties also mean that it is highly suitable for restoration and icon painting. 32 shades are available in 21ml tubes. Price per tube.
