THIN PROFILE FLOATER FRAMES
These frames offer a new dimension to framing stretched canvas, painting panels and so on, where the canvas is dropped into the frame and a part of the profile stands proud above the level of the canvas throwing a small shadow onto the canvas dependant on lighting - this gives the impression that the picture is floating in the frame.
Framing tips for Floater Frames
1. Screw in through one back edge of the picture frame until just the first few mm of the screw show. (Pre-drilling the frame is advised to prevent splitting - take into account the position of side tacks or staples on the canvas stretcher to be framed).
2. Drop the canvas in to the front of the frame and on to the tips of the screws that are showing. Apply gentle pressure having ensured the canvas is positioned correctly.
3. Remove the canvas and pre drill where the screw tips marked the canvas/stretcher.
4. Repeat for the other 3 sides.
5. Screw in all screws a bit at a time to keep the canvas centred in the frame.
