UNISON INDIVIDUAL PASTELS
According to manufacturer, John Hersey, Unison pastels are made by hand not because of some right-on, sandals-and-pulses approach to life, but because, as a professional artist, he found that mass-produced, factory made products simply did not offer the qualities he was looking for.
The difference in the manufacturing process, hand-rolling rather than extrusion by machine, gives Unison pastels a unique texture and allows them to flow across the paper like soft charcoal.
They also deliver a consistency of response across the colour spectrum that is unmatched. This is achieved because colours are made from blending different pure pigments, rather than through the addition of white or chalk. The result is an intense, lightfast, tonal vibrancy which artists love.
Unison Single Pastels - available singly, pastel size 5.5cm x 1.5cm.
The first colour number is the Unison Colour Reference according to their colour chart. The second colour number in brackets is our colour number.
