WINSOR & NEWTON™ Artisan is a genuine oil colour that looks like regular oil colour and can be processed like it.

WINSOR & NEWTON™ Artisan water mixable oil colour, features:

  • the recipe for Artisan contains no water.
  • the linseed oil and safflower oil in the paint are modified so that the paint accepts water, creating a stable emulsion.
  • the working properties of traditional oil paints are retained.
  • it is a virtually odourless paint.
  • a special range of mediums, varnishes and thinners has been developed for this type of oil colour.

WINSOR & NEWTON™ Artisan water mixable oil colour, the range:

The range is made with a high proportion of single pigments for bright colours and clean mixing colours. The oil and dispersion methods have been chosen to fully show off the individual properties, from opacity to natural transparency, of each pigment in the Artisan range. The consistency of the water mixable oil colours is unctuous and the drying time is between 2 and 12 days, depending on the colour.

The main difference between WINSOR & NEWTON™ Artisan water mixable oil colour, and traditional oil colours is that Artisan can be thinned and removed with water. Harmful solvents are eliminated so artists can enjoy a safer painting environment. An ideal paint for artists sharing a workshop, schools and home workers. The paint is non-toxic and cleaning can be done with soap and water. Suitable for all oil painting techniques.

There are 40 colours of Artisan in 37ml tubes, and 31 colours are available in 200ml tubes.

Price per tube.
