The Kazan squirrel hair used in the Léonard Series 5079 PS is considered the best hair for a swordliner. It absorbs a lot of (oil) paint and releases that paint evenly.

The hairs are brass wire bound, a proven traditional method. The wooden handle is extra short, giving you maximum control when drawing lines (pinstriping), writing letters and setting up finely chiselled ornamentation & decorations — the traditional uses of a swordliner. It's also suitable for brushlettering & calligraphy.

The product specifications of the Series 5079 PS swordliner by Léonard:

  • flat & bevelled swordliner
  • very long, 100% Kazan squirrel hair
  • brass wire bound
  • very short, lacquered cedar wood handle

TIP! You can also use this swordliner for some gilding techniques.
