The Schmincke Horadam Watercolours Super Granulating Special Colours range consists of a total of 40 shades, divided into 5 shades each in the series Volcano, Desert, Meadow, Deep Sea, Glacier, Galaxy, Forest and Tundra"
The combination of at least 2 granulating Horadam pigments increases this “supergranulation” effect. The colour tones are formulated with pigments from different colour ranges, so that the granulating effect results in additional colour variations. For example, the colour “deep sea indigo” is a combination of violet and green pigment, whereas “glacier brown” contains a brown and a green pigment. This novel, natural structure formation of the colours varies depending on the surface and the amount of water used. The rougher the paper, the stronger the granulating effect.
All Schmincke Horadam Watercolours Super Granulating Special Colours have 4 and 5 stars lightfastness and only contain pigments already known from the Horadam range. The opacity of the colours is predominantly semi-opaque / semi-transparent.
