The da Vinci Lettering brushes series 1150 are medium-length, blunt-edged brushes made of imitation red sable hair. For this artist's brush, selected white cow ear hair has been dyed and processed in the red sable style.

The structure of the cow ear hair is similar to that of red sable hair. They are fine, elastic and at the same time have a fine moulded tip, which ensures good colour receptivity. However, the resilience of the cow's ear hair is somewhat lower, yet fine and precise work is possible in almost all painting techniques. The da Vinci Lettering brushes series 1150 are a good price alternative to brushes made of real red sable hair.
