The da Vinci MAESTRO2 Flat Bristle Brush series 5023 are tried and tested bristle brushes for opaque oil and acrylic paints. They are made from long, strong Chinese Chungking bristles.
The brushes are ideal for impasto acrylic and oil painting, for damp, pre-plastered painting surfaces and for painting on dried mortar plaster. They have long red glazed handles with black ends and a bristle body that sits deep in the ferrule with an "implanted end", which guarantees high elasticity, springiness and durability. Utilising the natural curvature of the bristles, two tufts of bristles of equal thickness are worked against each other without tension, creating the so-called finish, which remains intact under heavy use.
