efco Opaque Backing Enamel is an opaque enamel for flat application on copper pieces. It is applied to the back of copper blanks to prevent or reduce warping during firing.
The enamel powder is mixed with sandalwood oil. Flat decorations are painted on with a brush. After about 10 hours, when the oil has completely dried out of the paint, the object can be fired in the kiln. For full-surface application, mix the EFCO Opaque Backing Enamel with a bonding agent to reduce the drying time to a few minutes.
Firing temperature 780 - 850° C.
