Made in France with wood from the Landes area, these Gerstaecker Excellence stretcher frames arenstable, knot-free and very dense. Sizes available include all the French sizes, perfect for either Portrait (F) or Landscape (P).

Gerstaecker excellence canvas stretcher frame - I have used many types of wooden stretcher before and this one has to be the worst. The stretcher arrived ready assembled but the whole thing fell apart as soon as I attempted to put the wedges in place. The ends of every wooden bar were splintered and because the corners of the bars did not slot together flush meant that there were protruding pieces of wood on most corners. The construction of the corner fittings of the bars are very hit and miss. There was also no centre bar in the package. There is no excellence in this product.
