These Hiro Leonardt Ballpoint Nibs 300 are specialised dip pen nibs designed for smooth everyday handwriting, monoline lettering, and modern calligraphy styles.
These nibs are highly regarded for ease of use and their durable stainless steel construction. They are ideal for beginners and advanced penmen alike. They feature a slightly upturned, rounded monoline tip that produces a consistent 0.8 mm line width. This design minimises paper snagging and mimics the smooth feel of a classic fountain pen.
The equal-tension nib can be used with standard bottled dip pen inks, as well as Chinese stick ink, watercolours, gouache, and acrylics. It is excellent for everyday monoline writing, American Cursive handwriting, or modern scripts, but not for traditional pointed-pen scripts that require severe flexing e.g. Copperplate or Spencerian.
