These Hiro Leonardt Cutting/Vaccinating dip pen nibs are specialist polished steel cutting, scratching, and vaccinating dip nibs used primarily for scraperboard work. They are lance-shaped, hand ground and good quality.

The nibs are sold in packs of 5 or 30 nibs. The sharp, fine point is excellent for etching intricate details into scraperboards, while the broader edges can be used to scrape away larger blocks of surface material. Artists frequently use these nibs to precisely scrape away errors made with waterproof India ink or heavy gouache from thick paper surfaces.

Hiro Leonardt Cutting/Vaccinating dip pen nibs are designed to fit most standard, universal dip pen holders and multi-prong nib holders, though they pair best with official Manuscript Pen Holders. They are stamped from durable steel and given a polished (PL) finish.

TIP! The nibs are shipped with a light layer of protective oil from the factory to prevent rusting. This should be cleaned off prior to your first use.
