TIP! Brand new nibs are shipped with a micro-thin layer of protective oil to prevent rust. Before your first use, gently scrub the nib with toothpaste and water or wipe it with a wet wipe to remove the oil layer. If you skip this, the ink will bead up and pool or drop off instantly instead of clinging to the metal.
