Leonardesca Unprimed Linen Canvas 549 is a premium, 100% pure linen unprimed artist canvas manufactured by the historic Italian company, Leonardesca. Rolls measure 10 metres by 215 cms.
This canvas is highly sought after by professional painters who prefer to size and prime their own painting surfaces to exact specifications. It weighs 220 gsm and has an extra-fine grain.
The tight, smooth weave is ideal for detailed work, portraits, precise realism, and glazing techniques where prominent fabric texture is undesirable. Linen is inherently stronger and more durable than cotton. It resists sagging over time and expands/contracts less in response to environmental moisture changes.
