This MAIMERI OIL PAINTING PRIMER 616 is a light-absorbing alkyd resin-based primer. It is the modern version of a classic oil primer and is particularly suitable for oil paint — your paint will not sink in and will adhere excellently.
This primer is thixotropic. When you shake or stir it — even when you simply pick up some primer with your brush — the viscosity decreases: it feels thinner. The more you move it, the more fluid it feels. When at rest, it regains its original stiff viscosity.
You do not need to dilute this primer — it is ready to use. However if you still want to dilute it, you can do so with solvents such as turpentine, white spirit or a suitable substitute.
TIP! Do you want an even smoother primer? Then apply several thin layers within 24 hours.
