Marabu TIE DYE INK is a ready-to-use, water-based fabric dye for creative batik and tie-dye techniques. It is vegan, and is ideal for light-coloured fabrics that have not been treated with a finish or fabric softener, with a maximum synthetic fibre content of 20%.

The dye offers vibrant shades and is easy to use – perfect for personalised DIY projects on T-shirts, bags or other fabrics. Once fixed, the dye is wash-resistant up to 40°C, ensuring long-lasting results.

How to use:

  • 1. Cover your work surface well and wear gloves
  • 2. Spray the fabric on both sides with water
  • 3. Tie off with rubber bands
  • 4. Dye both sides and knead the dye in thoroughly so that it is evenly distributed
  • 5. Remove the rubber bands
  • 6. Carefully unfold the fabric and leave to dry hanging up (e.g. with clothes pegs)
  • 7. Once dry, set the dye:
  • – in a preheated oven (8 minutes at 150°C)
  • – or with an iron (3 minutes on the cotton setting through a cloth, area approx. 30 x 30 cm)
