Michael Harding™ Non-Absorbent Acrylic Primer is a high-quality, permanent ground specially formulated to prevent oil paint from looking dull, flat, and muted.

Unlike traditional acrylic gessos, this primer forms a non-porous barrier that stops the canvas from leaching the oil out of your paint layer, ensuring your colours retain their original body, gloss, and lustre. It is suitable for both oil and acrylic paint.

Using Michael Harding™ Non-Absorbent Acrylic Primer means your oil paints will remain as bright and vivid as if you had just painted them. Michael Harding™ Non-Absorbent Acrylic Primer can be applied to linen, wood, MDF and other supports to produce a strong, flexible, permanent, highly pigmented white ground.

Apply this non-toxic Michael Harding™ Non-Absorbent Acrylic Primer in 2 coats. The first coat can be diluted up to 25% with water to increase flow and coverage if required. Apply the second coat once the first is dry (approx 1 hour). This primer can even be applied over standard primed canvases to make them non-absorbent.
