Product reviews
NORIS Agate Polishing Tools are ideal for smoothing gold gilding to produce a gloss finish. Agates are semi-precious stones of great hardness consisting of certain siliceous minerals.
These NORIS Agate Polishing Tools have heads in different shapes/sizes set in round, sturdy metal ferrules. They have 13 cm long wooden handles.
The following NORIS Agate Polishing Tool shapes are available:
- 29001 = No 13: unique, fine-curved tip perfect for getting down into deep crevices, detailed surfaces, and intricate contours where larger flat stones cannot reach.
- 29005 = No 25: engineered specifically for water gilding techniques. It should not be used on surfaces treated with oil/gold size, as this can tear the metal leaf and damage the tool.
- 29003 = No 27: the distinct curvature makes it highly versatile, allowing artisans to seamlessly alternate between broad, flat burnishing and precise, targeted detail work on ornamental surfaces like picture frames or sculptures.
- 29004 = No 31: tailored for working on large flat surfaces as well as broader concave areas or curved mouldings.
- 29002 = No 34: specifically optimised for flat areas where a larger agate surface area creates a better uniform finish.
