ARCHES® Oil Painting paper is 100% cotton, 300 gsm and a natural white colour. It has been specially designed for oil painting and has the same characteristics as canvas.

This ARCHES® Oil Painting paper is acid-free, with excellent absorption and age resistance. It is ready to use and needs no preparation, however you can reduce the paper's capacity for absorption by applying a coat of medium acrylic, which you could tint if desired to alter the natural white colour.

Sheets of ARCHES® Oil Painting paper measure 56 cm x 76 cm and rolls measure 1.3 x 9.15 metres.

Arches Huile (oil painting paper) - This is a great paper it has the same texture as their other papers, i.e. it does not have an artificial canvas texture, which I dislike.

If you decide you want to paint immediately it is ideal, no need to prime or stretch canvas etc.
