The colours of BLOCKX oils are smooth, bright and of high quality. The extra-fine oils are, for the most part, made from mono-pigments, without fillers and without additives for a product highly concentrated in colour.

The selected pigments are of high quality and very lightfast (score of 7/8 on the blue wool scale). The traditional production of grinding on a porphyry stone, similar to hand grinding, is very respectful of the colour and allows to have an optimal fineness of the pigment.

BLOCKX oil colours properties at a glance:

  • excellent lightfastness
  • mono-pigmented
  • no additives
  • optimal fineness
  • consistent application
  • brilliant colours
  • buttery consistency
  • easily mixable
  • 100 colours with 19 new shades!

BLOCKX EXTRA-FINE oils contain only the best and purest pigments and binders. For the iron oxides, earth tones and dark shades, they are ground with linseed oil. The lighter, paler shades are ground with poppy oil, which does not yellow.

TIP! — The process of applying a thin layer of oil, usually a medium or solvent, to a dried layer of oil paint to make it more flexible and workable. This allows you to blend colors, create smooth transitions, and achieve a uniform surface.
