Esprit Composite Meudon White is an ultra-fine, chalk-based white powder composed of calcium carbonate, widely used in fine arts, restoration, and eco-friendly household cleaning. Meudon White is also known as kaolin.
Historically this product was sourced from the famous limestone quarries of Meudon near Paris. This traditional pigment (classified as PW18) serves as a multi-purpose material for artists and craftspeople: it can be mixed with paint, varnish, gypsum or clay in order to drastically increase their covering power and thickness. When combined with animal glues (such as rabbit skin glue), it yields a smooth, highly absorbent, and uniform gesso ground perfect for canvas, wooden panels, and gilding work.
If you mix Esprit Composite Meudon White with water it creates a care product with great cleaning power. It cleans stainless steel, marble, glass, silver, aluminimum etc and makes them gleam, but please note: Esprit Composite Meudon White is not suitable for objects containing iron.
Esprit Composite Meudon White also protects silver against oxidation, and can be used to 'whiteout' windows. It can be washed off with water. It is sold in 750 g tubs.
