Gerstaecker Bone Glue is a collagen/gelatin granular glue made from the bones, skin etc. of animals. The granules should be mixed with water and heated. In their solid form the beads have a virtually unlimited shelf life.
This glue is suitable for pre-gluing canvas, and also for building musical instruments and restoring furniture. It is somewhat more brittle and less elastic than hide glue or rabbit skin glue.
This Gerstaecker Bone Glue hardens quickly after cooling, but bonding is reversible by applying heat, as with hide glue. The granules are sold in a 500 g bag.
TIP! To correct mistakes simply warm the piece and separate as the bond softens, then rejoin!
