Gerstaecker Oil Based Etching Inks are traditional printing inks suitable for intaglio techniques such as engraving, etching, aquatint, mezzotint etc.

These inks are made from finest, fade-resistant artists' pigments bound with a special blend of linseed oil. They have optimal viscosity but are wipeable. They are free of any heavy metal pigments and have no chemical additives.

All colours of Gerstaecker Oil Based Etching Ink have high light resistance (6-8 on the wool scale). The extender can be used to alter the intensity and transparency of the colours. To dilute these inks a small amount of Caligo Safe Wash Oil can be added. All colours are intermixable.

All shades of Gerstaecker Oil Based Etching Ink are available in 75 ml tubes and in 250 g tins, the main colours are also available in 500 g tins.
