Gerstaecker | Safflower Oil — non-yellowing

This oil yellows less than linseed oil and is therefore often used with lighter colours of oil paint. Safflower oil dries extremely slowly, therefore you should never use it in the lower layers of your painting. More

Helen
Saffllower oil - I have been using this oil for many years.I mix it with a little turps to give it flow.
I find no need to varnish when the painting is finished.Although it has become very expensive I was very pleased when it was on offer at Great Art, and took full advantage of the offer and ordered the largest size. It lasts quiet a long time and as you dont need to varnish afterwards used wisely can be economical.
