These compact tools feature a 20 cm total length with 8.5 cm alloy steel blades hardened to 61 Rockwell, and have ergonomic, octagonal hornbeam handles. They are delivered sharpened, ready for use.

Care and Maintenance of your Kirschen Short Pattern Wood Carving Tools:

  • final honing: the tools arrive razor-sharp, but a quick strop with a fine Kirschen Sharpening Stone ensures a perfect finish before your first cut.
  • resharpening: because 2/3 of the blade length is uniformly hardened, you can ground and sharpen the profile back repeatedly without losing edge temper.
  • corrosion prevention: moisten the polished alloy blades regularly with a universal machine oil (such as item code 38000) to protect against rust.
