These Kirschen Straight Gouges Cut 11 are hand-forged tools designed to scoop out narrow channels, carve fine details, and create sharp, deep grooves.
The blades are hand-forged from high-quality special high carbon steel to a hardness of 61 Rockwell. They are ready-to-use with highly polished blades and octagonal hornbeam handles. "Cut 11" indicates a deep, tightly curved "U"-profile gouge with a tight, semi-circular profile where the edges curve inward. It is an indispensable tool for stock removal, carving deep veins, shaping high-relief channels, and rendering details in both sculptural and relief woodwork. Woodcarvers use it as a "veiner" to carve plant veins, hair strands, clothing folds, or sharp separation lines in relief carvings.
