These Kirschen Straight Gouges Cut 9 are hand-forged tools designed for creating deep, moderate curves. They are heavily favoured by professional sculptors and relief carvers for carving recesses and shaping raised surfaces.
The blades are hand-forged from high-quality special high carbon steel to a hardness of 61 Rockwell. They are ready-to-use with highly polished blades and octagonal hornbeam handles. "Cut 9" indicates a deep, moderate gouge curvature. It is used for quick material removal, shaping deep folds, and cleaning out recess backgrounds.
Kirschen Flat Gouges Cut 9 are 25 cm long and have a 12 cm blade.
