MAIMERI RETOUCHING VARNISH 686 for restoration is a light, fast-drying retouching varnish for oil paintings, made from ketonic resin. It is used to restore sheen to dull or "mat" spots that appear on oil paintings during the painting process.

This varnish also serves as a light, final varnish when minimal gloss is desired.
