modern options INSTANT RUST™ Antiquing Solution is used in combination with the INSTANT IRON™ Basecoat (item code 24475) to give all kinds of objects an 'antique' rusted appearance.

It is ideal for almost any surface on which you can work with acrylic paint, e.g. wood, plaster, ceramics, metal etc.

To use modern options INSTANT RUST™ Antiquing Solution:

  • 1. apply 2 to 3 coats of INSTANT IRON™ Basecoat, waiting approx 30 minutes between coats
  • 2. apply modern options INSTANT RUST™ Antiquing Solution to the still slightly sticky last layer of the base coat
  • 3. allow to dry and repeat, depending on the required effect (2 or 3 coats)
  • 4. we recommend using Modern Options Primo Primer & Clear Sealant (item code 29064) to protect your finished item.
