This Pearl Barley Hare Glue (Hasenleim Graupen) is ideal as a binder for oil painting grounds. It can also be used in combination with gesso. It is sold in a practical transparent and resealable 450 gram jar.

Preparation of this Pearl Barley Hare Glue:
Simply pour cold water over the Pearl Barley the day before and leave to swell in a well-sealed container, protected from dust.
Only heat up immediately before use, without bringing the glue to the boil.
Optimal temperatures are up to 60 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is too high (above 75 degrees Celsius), the glue will lose its strength.
Contact with metal can cause glue discolouration or a reduction in glue strength. We recommend heating in a water bath in a chemically inert glue container, e.g. made of ceramic, glass or plastic.
