Fantastic range - I have used many other top brands - Schmincke, Maimeriblu, Holbein, Old Holland, Rembrandt - and they are excellent products. But Sennelier beats them all. They are a good price, because you only need use a small amount because of the generous pigment loading. The colours are vivid and gorgeous and only have a very slight colour shift. They perform very well watered down to give soft effects and are strong enough for the boldest techniques. Probably the best ever.

At last I have founs the perfect watercolour paint. - I have painted with traditional manufactured English watercolours for years from the top names. However, there has been a huge change in manufacturing location to France and a change to what is called modern and more permanent pigments. For instance, Brown Madder from one brand is a Quinacidone pink, and though useful, is not the old colour I have loved. I have missed so many of my old favourite friends which are now unobtainable or replaced by modern equivilents that are not really the same. I came to Sennelier products through their oil pastels. When they introduced their honey based watercolours I bought a small set and was amazed at their brilliance, colour strength, and transparency without turning into mud in washes or mixtures. I have bought many of Sennelier's range of colours in whole pans and 21ml tubes. At the last sale I really stocked up on Sennelier's watercolours. I have found for sketching a palette of Cobalt Blue, Yellow Ochre Lght, Venetian Red and Ivory Black give me a great range of tones and tints. I have tried many manufacturers' Indanthrene Blue but Sennelier's is so good that at times I need no other blue in my box. I never mix Sennelier watercolours with other brands for fear of losing their honey based quality and beauty. I cannot recommend these colours highly enough! The price is great. You get twice the quantity of many other manufacturers for half the price in the tube range especially. These colours would be excellent for beginners because of their ease of use.

Sennelier L'Aquarelle French Artists' Watercolour - I'd never liked watercolours until I tried these. Now watercolour is one of my favourite mediums. They blend like a dream, the colours stay true and do not easily turn into mud from over working. I absolutely love them. I have tried other high end artist quality watercolour, but these are by far my favourite.
