SENNELIER | OIL STICK set — 36 x 38 ml

This SENNELIER OIL STICK set contains 36 x 38 ml assorted colour sticks of artist quality solid oil colour, all presented in a beautiful light-coloured wooden box.

This oil paint in the form of oil sticks offers new possibilities when painting with oils. It allows more expression and a more spontaneous approach. To make a stick of oil paint, part of the oil is replaced by a mineral wax. For the brilliant colours of the oil sticks, pure pigments in high concentrations are rubbed with top-quality vegetable oils so that any yellowing is kept to an absolute minimum. Almost all colours have good to very good lightfastness.

The various colours are partly opaque and partly transparent. They can be used alone or combined with traditional oil colours. Oil Stick work is paintable with oil paints, it can be thinned with a solution of petroleum extract and turpentine if necessary.

TIP! If the stick is not used for several days, a film forms that must be scraped off before use. The drying time is on average 2 to 5 days and the final varnish can be applied after 6 months. Keep the sticks free of heat sources (sun, heating, etc.) during storage.
