Because soapstone is so soft it is the ideal material for getting into sculpture. It can be sawn, rasped, filed, carved and sanded. Even large soapstone blcoks are easy to split or cut into pieces. As it is a natural product we have limited influence on colour and weight, and no influence on shape or dimensions of fragments. Due to our careful selection of mining areas and regular laboratory testing of raw stones, we can guarantee that our material is free of any harmful substances. Unfortunately sawn edges cannot always be avoided. Soapstone Assortments by Weight have a minimum order quantity of 30kg but this can be spread across the weight categories.

Soapstone Assortments By Weight - Less than 5kg - I wasn't exactly sure what to expect when it said less than 5kg, I thought I'd maybe get a few stones all weighing around 1kg but I got 1 decently sized stone weighing about 3kg which was a pleasure to work and I am very happy with the result.
