Soapstone Blanks - I have purchased most of these soapstone blanks. Most have turned out rather well. I have found that searching on the internet for photographs of my chosen animals is really helpful. I can then carve the soapstone to a more realistic shape. The quality varies - some a a lot softer while others have hard grit in the stone. This can take the edge off your tools and makes it harder to carve. Having said that, soapstone is a natural product and Great Art have no control over this problem.
