Jacques Blockx developed these Blockx Artists Oil Colours in the middle of the19th century to emulate the paints used by the Old Masters. Only the best and purest pigments are used, giving the paints a lightfastness rating of 7-8 on the wool scale.
For the iron oxide, earth colours and black shades best linseed oil is used as a binder, and for all other pigments poppy oil is used because it does not yellow nor become brittle with age. These Blockx Artists Oil Colours are expressive, consistent, brilliant and lightfast.
Blockx Artists Oil Colours are available in 35ml tubes, with the whites also available in 60ml and 200ml tubes.
