The LEFRANC & BOURGEOIS Gilding Base Coat Varnish seals surfaces and protects gilding. This water-based product seals supports including wood, plaster and ceramic. As a varnish it protects your gilding from chemicals and abrasions.
Used as an undercoat, this product gives your gilded pieces a more brilliant finish. When used as a varnish, only apply 48 hours after drying. LEFRANC & BOURGEOIS Gilding Base Coat Varnish is sold in 75 ml bottles.
N.B. LEFRANC & BOURGEOIS Gilding Base Coat Varnish does not increase the initial sheen of the gilding products, and should not be used on gilding wax.
