The MABEF M04 Plus Studio Easel is a professional studio easel of robust construction – ideal for large stretcher frames and restoration work. Four castors and locking screws ensure stability.

This easel features an extendable central axis for canvases up to a height of 235 cm, and an adjustable work surface. Both the height and the tilt of the canvas holder are adjusted using a crank. The rear locking screw for secure canvas fixation and two painting drawers for accessories round off the excellent overall design.

Wonderful Buy - An Aesthetically Atrractive Crank Easel Built For A Lifetime - The Mabef 04 PLUS became my first choice of studio easel as it has a wheeling system and for me most importantly a must-have crank system to raise and lower canvases with ease and tilt them too. I'm 5ft 2" so being able to raise and lower large canvases or wheel the easel about on my own has been liberating this past year. I've enjoyed oil painting so much more.

My internet studio easel research had revealed that for painting canvases comfortably, you need an easel made in quality materials, one which had sturdiness and steadiness, but also one that brought instant ease of use when setting up to paint. I have experienced other easels that take ages to set up then tip easily too, making them hard to leave up when not painting. Not so with this model. This Mabef04 model is so steady and can take a good size canvas and remain steady. It also has a useful set of drawers and a shelf.

My mind was made up and Greartart had the best prices anywhere. Delivery was also fast, less than a week once ordered. Well packaged too. Some other sites sold similar Mabef04 models for hundreds of pounds more and worse up to 8 weeks delivery. Greatart had them in stock.

I also wanted something beautiful to look at when I paint in the family end of my long kitchen and the quality wood in this easel is a great match for my American Oak cupboards. When we have a crowd in, its no problem to wheel it through to a small art study out of the way, but many people are fascinated by it.

One extra piece of advice, this is partially assembled, but still needs joining in parts. It is heavy, so use one strong person and a helper to hold and allow about 2 hours to assemble the pieces carefully.

This is one of the best practical Christmas presents I have ever had.
