Review this product
Top Quality - I have a reasonable collection of these tools and they are absolutely top quality. I use them on lino and plywood panels and they cut like a knife through butter. I would thoroughly recommend them if you can afford them. I collected mine over a period of time - good presents . I agree with the packaging , they should be wrapped in bubble wrap and corrugated card sleeve.
Invest in a sharpening stone.
outstanding1 - I HAVE NOW USED MOST OF THE AVAILABLE TOOL BRANDS PRODUCED FOR RELIEF PRINTMAKERS AND THESE TRULY STAND OUT AS SOMETHING CLOSE TO PERFECTION! THEY ARE A JOY TO USE ON ANY MATERIAL YOU ARE LIKELY TO EMPLOY.
Some staff need training - The tools were simply dropped into the box together with zinc plates and lino blocks with no protection whatsoever. Everything was mixed at the bottom, with some of the tools being out of their protective sleeves and between the plates. On top of that someone pushed a lot of paper, I suppose to 'prevent' any damages (so yes, I guess nothing moved much after the box had been sealed). Very intelligent indeed. I don't know maybe I expect too much, but to me it's pretty obvious that tools should be extra wrapped for protection. And in this case the plates were dropped loose too! I know they are covered in plastic film, but still. Whenever I order them, they are wrapped in thick paper and placed at the bottom in a reasonable way so they can't move during transport. I have ordered from Great Art many times before and was never that disappointed regarding their packaging methods. Absolutely ridiculous.
Lino Tools - I bought some of these tools as a present for my daughter, at her request. She is very pleased and making good use of them. Her comment was that the packaging was not secure, and the tools had come out of their plastic sleeves in transit. No damage was done to the tools or other items included, but she thought it should be mentioned. Otherewise, very happy.
GREAT VALUE - These tools are excellent value and if kept well, will keep making crisp cuts and marks. However I would recommend buying the oil stones to keep them in good condition, they can loose their sharpness depending on how much you use them.
Pfeil lino tools - These tools are excellent and excellent value for money . If you are serious about lino, or even if you are going to do more than 'try it out', these are a much better than cheaper ones. They stay sharp, cut very cleanly and are easy in the hand. Unless you only plan to use cutters once or twice, these are ones to go for. You will enjoy this form of printmaking so much more with good tools. They will last a life time if properly stored and are well worth the money.
Having just defended the cheap Gaersteker tool set (5 for the price of one of these) simply because they can be made to work perfectly well, I feel must comment on these Pfiel beauties! They are probably the best on the market and are a joy to use. I am not surprised that Pauline (above) has bought every one of them. I may eventually do so myself!
best lino/woodcut tools - Having used these Pfiel tools I would not want to go back to any other type. They are the best and also easy to sharpen.
Outstanding Lino Cutting Tools - These Swiss tools are the best I have ever used for lino cutting. They slip through the lino with an accurate crisp stroke. Best of all my hands don't feel cramped and tired after using them.

I have bought everyone of these tools in the range, because I was so impressed with the cutting quality. They feel comfy in the hand and are far superior to any other cheaper craft market tool I've used before.

If you are keen to improve your printmaking then I suggest you start with the best and you won't regret it. I've wasted money on inferior tools before and just wish I had bought these the first time I started to do lino cuts.
