Rohrer & Klingner Lithography Chalk Packs contain 12 chalks in a slide-out box. They are ideal for drawing directly onto the litho printing plate - during etching, the drawings are preserved, only the free areas are attacked.
Rohrer & Klingner Lithography Chalk is made of wax, tallow and Syrian asphalt with formulations for high etching resistance. They are available in six different hardness grades with No. 0 as the softest, No. 5 as the hardest. No. 3 can be described as the standard hardness.
Hard chalk produces a fine stroke (usually on fine-grained stone) and soft chalk produces correspondingly dark, strong strokes (usually on coarse-grained stone).
