The Schmincke AQUA Granulation Spray 737 is used to produce granulation effects in non-granulating watercolour paints. Even the smallest areas can be processed with the atomiser attachment.

Targeted spraying into the damp watercolour ensures the pigments are concentrated in the treated area. The effect can be enhanced with granulating colours.

Edit - it does work! - Sorry but my negative review has been posted 3 times. Anyway - an edit. This spray does work, but the paint has to be thin and runny. Then it granulates very very well!

Really disappointed! - I really excited to try this granulating spray, as granulation is what I need in my current watercolour painting (of huge planets). I've been using salt (which generally sticks horribly to the paper and you literally wear out your fingers rubbing it gently off) and have tried to make a super saturated solution of salt and water, which is so-so although obviously really wet...

Anyway, this spray is alcohol based so not as wet as water, it just evaporates really quickly. I have just tried it on various test swatches I have just painted on extra rough Torchon paper. However - it doesn't actually work! I'm really disappointed. What waste of money! At least I didn't pay full price. I will try it again, perhaps it's the paper I used? I could not recommend this spray though.
