Schmincke Finest Artist Oil Paint 108 Flake White hue is an excellent lead-free alternative to the classic Cremnitz white. Instead of the toxic pigment lead white, the colour contains a mixture of the pigments titanium white and zinc white.
The pigments are ground in a particularly pure and light safflower oil. Schmincke 108 Flake White hue shows a slightly warm white tone and has a slightly lower covering and whitening power than titanium white. Mixed with other oil paints, the paint, like the original Cremnitz white, accelerates drying and stabilises the film.
Paints mixed with Schmincke Finest Artist Oil Paint 108 Flake White hue have a buttery and smooth consistency. This paint is suitable for lightening hues without changing the colour character, as well as being used alone. It is available in different size tubes.
