This Schmincke Liquid Charcoal Set contains one shade of each of the 3 liquid charcoals in 5ml tubes. It is ideal for trying out and getting to know the product.

Liquid charcoal enables a clean, dust-free way of painting, charcoal drawing and underpainting with charcoal. Due to the large amount of paint that is quickly available, the liquid charcoal can also be used to process large areas quickly.

The colours in this Schmincke Liquid Charcoal Set are:

  • Grape seed black - cool, bluish tone
  • Cherry stone black - warm, brownish tone
  • Peach core black - neutral tone

Key characteristics of Schmincke Liquid Charcoal:

  • Contains the high-quality binding agent gum arabic (as in traditional artists' watercolours)
  • Has a gouache-like consistency
  • Can be diluted with water for different nuances, structures and layer thicknesses
  • Depending on the substrate and the layer thickness, it can be smudged by hand and removed with water
  • Can be combined with charcoal
